THE CADET BALL CADET S . . . little boys played at soldier-shooting Injuns, killing bujalo. They were aiming to be like Paw when they got growed. And, shucks, a felleris gotta prac- ticefi' Now, those young sons sweat at their drills. The game is no longer play but serious duty wherein they combine mental and physical effort. These boys devise Various stratagems, map out their make-believe fields of battle, and plan new ways to defeat the enemy. In recent rifle matches our Rebel Cadets came in third, competing with more than sixty schools. Later this summer they will participate in an all city drill competition. Chances are South will shine again as victor, for the cadets have as motivation Pop Kohl and Major Combs, the sponsors. Here is the bulwark of a military nationg here is protection and assurance.
