Ex- plaining the various reasons for the unfinished building, he urges the stu- dents to be cautious and, if possible, avoid the building materials. This year as in previous ones, DHS was extremely fortunate in having some new faculty members. Eight teachers confronted our student body for the first time, they are Mrs. Vaughn, Mrs. Kelso, Mrs. Parks, Mrs. Woods, Mrs. Leyendecker, Mr. Ellis, Mr. Holt, and Mr. Whitson. Mr. Hyman begins the wearisome task of record- ing locks and their combinations. At the begin- ning of each school year, the administration is confronted with many dull and dreary jobs that must be smoothed out before school can officially open.

The smooth and efficient issuance of text books was made possible by the diligent efforts of Mrs. Hudson. Mrs. Hutchison issues locker receipts to Bob Harris and Mark Hannah in an ad- visory group meeting. Mrs. Fouts confronted her' sophomore geometry class for the first time reassuring them about their next three years at high school.
