SENIOR HISTCJRY Dlwnlson H lcd .Se-hooL T Lg N 1950, we were very eager, but green freshmeng 65 of them to be exact. We were all ready to get into the swing of things, high school activities, games, etc. Ah! Yes, it was new to us, but we got off to a good start. Violet Soulsby was electedfresh- men attendant and Arlene Stier was a majorette in the band. Lois McCluskey enjoyed the honor of being President of this class . Our sophomore year really hit the high- lites . It was this year that Betty Jean Fulton was chosen as the Queen's attendant and a few of our boys started their sports enthusi- asm. Also Violet Soulsby was elected cheerleader. Shilling was elected class Pres. Slowly, but surely we were coming into our own . During our junior year, which we called our Turning Point, we were starting on our own at last. This year many of our boy's names appeared on the sports pages . Some of these are: O'Hara, who topped E.C.O.L., Moody, Murray, Huston and Cum- mings . Soulsby and Arnold were elected as members of the Nat'l. Honor Society. Arlene Stier still held the position as Sec. of G.A.A. for the second consecutive year. Violet Soulsby was moved into head position as cheerleader. jean Reed was elected Queen's attendant this year. Our junior-Senior Prom was a big step and then we pre- sented our highly successful play, Let Me Grow Up. And now as we look toward graduation we find that time has gone by fast. Larry Shilling won the Science award this year and was elected as a member of the Nat'l. Honor Society, along with Stier and Maitland. Don Moody and Dick Cummings were elected as players on the E.C.O.L. All-Star Football Team. Our class play, I'm a Family Crisis, proved tobejust as successful as in our junior year. Arlene Stier was elected Queen and Jean Reed her attendant . Although we want to say that we could not have attained this great height, if it had not been for the wonderful parents, teachers and principal along our way who have encouraged us with untiring strength. 24
