' .,' ..f1u, .Eg,,, W SENIOR HISTORY In 1949, 65 little green specks were bunched together into one large green speck - the freshmen class. How bliss- ful was that first year for us, for ignorance, as we all know, is bliss. However, Jeannine Bache was elected fresh- man attendant and also one of our cheerleaders which she held through out her Junior year. Bill Hunter was our class president this year and also our sophomore year. Naomi Selzer and Carolyn Davis were our majorettes in the band. Perhaps we were great worries to our teachers our soph- omore year, but how well we remember it! It was this year that Carolyn Davis was chosen as the queen's attendant and a few of our boys were starting to excel in sports, During the junior year this large green speck blossomed into a brilliant class. It was this year that many of our boys' names appeared on the sports pages. Some of these are: Bente, Wagstaff, Morris, Zeimer, McCord, Hunter, Hillyer, Thompson, Downie, Jackson, Edwards, and Rabbege. Ruth Wright was winner of the local and county Prince of Peace Contests. Jim McCord was president this year and also our senior year. Mary Lee Schupp, Ruth Wright. and Bill Hunter were elected as members of the National Honor Society. Lois Barr was chosen for the class attendant this year. This class pre- sented the highly successful play, uJunior Prom.n And now, as we look out and see our graduation drawing near, we know we will never forget those glorious days spent in D.H.S. Five more students were added to the National Honor Society. These were Snow, Wagstaff, Miracle, Brown, and Stocker. Jeannine Bache was our Queen this year with Patty Snow as her attendant. Naomi Selzer was our head ma- jorette and Shirley Maxwell, one of our cheerleaders. Wagstaff and Bente were co-captains of the basketball team and Hillyer and Hunter were co-captains of the football team. Our class play, WMister Co-Ed,' has proved to be just as successful as our junior play. 21
