Nw one who has ever been a part of Denfeld, its people. and events can ever forget this plan-e and those days that were so filled with enjoyable experiences.

the events that made '55 a year to remember Bound here in this hook is llenfeld's year of IU5-It-55. This year has heen one of fun and frolic. work and opportunity for you. the students of Denfeld lligh School. Through the things that have marked '55, sophomores and juniors. as well as seniors. have acquired many unforgettahle memories of the place- llenfeld-the peoplefyour classmates and the administration-and the events of this year. Denfeld is what its people have made it. Memhers of the faculty' have come to he known as friends as they taught. guided, and counseled. Fellow students have also shown their talents and abilities and estahlished themselves as future leaders. The offi- cers of the many organizations have helped to see their cluhs through a success-fulled year for all. lfyery student has hecome well cstahlished as a part of llenfeldis people. Cluh activities of '55 will also remain in lnany lncmorics, The Boys' linion added to the social life and entertainment of each Denfeld hoy. From the stag to the spring style show the year has proved outstanding. Nlaking a tour of the cities of the world were the girls of llenfeld. memhers of the Girls' Cluh. The full calen- dar of this cluh made its season an enjoyahle one. The Power Cluh marked another year of pep and spirit to hack each athletic team. Governing Uenfeld through the school year was the Pyra- mid. They have kept this hall of learning running smoothly. Literary' and speech groups have also celehratcd a year of progress. The Criterion staff has succeeded to Keep llenfeld on the Map for another year. and the Oracle has recorded each event of IU55 so it may liye on for many years to come. Bringing home four trophies was the Denfeld dehate squad. The speech groups have sent eight on to the regional competition. Musical groups hayc filled IU55 with song. playing and sing- ing for concerts. assemhlies. meetings. and around the city. The A Cappella choir traveled to Minneapolis. and the hand and or- chestra, to Rice Lake. Wisconsin. The operetta. Sweethearts, hy Victor Herhetrt. could he rated a scintillating performance with its colorful choruses and their gay costumes. Both the music and art departments helped to produce this operclta. Filling the social calendar were the three class plays. The Senior Class play. t'Wizard of Oz. headed the drama season. HA Double liarreled Detective Story . was presented as the ,lunior Class play. Last on the program came the sophomores with their play, l ather Knows Best. lloth actors and yiewers will long remem- her these events. Many events of this school year have estahlished themselves as outstanding in our memories. Sport events have held the in- terest of every student. l.ast summer was marked hy the golf and hasehall teams going to state. lfoothall season hrought 6 wins and 2 losses and a win oyer the rival red and white at the higgesl game of the year. The haskethall season was marked hy the team tieing with Central for the city title. The hockey' team took the eity' title also. The Track team won the city-regional meet in the , spring of '54, The cheers. the pep assenihlies, llomecoming with l . v f t King Holy. lVlaroon and tiold Day, and Western Hound-llp Day were all a part of these sporting events. Yes. l955 has hcen a good year for everyone. For the grad- uating seniors this year has prohahly held more than any' other school year. Kid Day, the Senior Banquet. and the Prom held many exciting moments that are fond memories. The selection of the Queen, Honor Day, and C1rmmcncement hrought to a climax their high school careers. Although the school ycar is over. mem- ories of the place. the people, and the eyents of i955 will long linger.
