The Denfeld debaters, under the direction of their coach, Mr. Robert K. Skouge, took high honors again this year. At the Moorhead Tri-State Tournament, Den- feld took first place for the fourth consecutive year, through the efforts of the four seniors who made up the A squad, Jack Sommers, Dick Whalen, Dave Fox, and Dave Wood. These boys also copped first place at the annual Carleton College Meet and went un- defeated at the Gustavus-Adolphus Tournament. Together with the able members of the B squads, the first four made outstanding records at the Rcg'on 7 Clinic at Denfeld, the N. F. L. Tournament in Cloquet, and the Region 7 De- bate Tournament. The graduation of the six seniors on the debate team by no means looks discouraging, for there are several alert, able sophs and iuniors who are sure to place Denfeld close to the top again next year.
