Our School
Here each year 4000 youth meet, coming together from many paths, to share ex-
periences and from the crossroads which is graduation, to part once again, each seeking
a straight lane to a bright future.
At the crossroads, stop . . . and look . . . and listen . . . with us . . .

Crossroads
In the years to come, as we thumb through these pages, we will stop and ponder
over familiar faces and places along the road of our high school days. After four years we came to a
crossraad where we had to make the most important decision of our lives. We stopped to consider the
best road to choose in order to turn our ambitions and hopes into accomplishments.
Before continuing we had to set a high goal for ourselves, one that we could hold
up as an ideal, one that would be worthy of our constant striving. Through the help and guidance of
our counselors and teachers most of us chose the road on which we would make the best "mileage" to
a mature and happy future.
Among us, looking for the signposts of careers and futures, were those who will
take their places in the annals of history, others who will be just average citizens taking part in the many
duties of being Americans. Not all of us will be fortunate enough to secure high positions or win fame,
many of us will take the smaller jobs which make America what it is. Still, each of us will have a part
in her future.
Here at Denby we have been trained not only in citizenship, sportsmanship, social
etiquette, and cooperation, but also in one of the most important attitudes in life, doing to the best of
our ability every job we undertake, no matter how large or small.
The classes, assemblies, little incidents we take for granted today will soon be things
of the past which will be cherished and locked in this book of our memories. They will be relived over
and over again as we look back and realize how Denby, our teachers, counselors, and friends have
influenced our way of thinking and patterned our way of living.
