FOREWORD
For many years I have been among you, watch-
ing you struggle with your education, trying to make
this or that team, striving to win recognition in one way
or another.
I am the companion of the Spirit of Youth, lonely,
when I am neglected, troubled, when you are uncertain,
othertimes, happy when you have accomplished your
feat, and gay because you are too, most of the time.
I have known you as an individual, struggling to
reach the peak of success. In the years that have passed,
I've shared with you the things which make lite com-
plete: hope, ioy and sorrow. Some of you have had very
little to do with meg and yet, others have mastered me
until I am their slave.
When you were but a mere child, I urged you on,
punished you, and sometimes spoiled you. Now today,
this special day, when I finally have won a place in your
life, I go about looking for more young people to fit me
into their lives.
By now you are wondering who I amp what right
I have to talk to you in this way. I have all the right in
the world, for I, I am the Spirit of Education. It is to me
-the Spirit of Education that this "old-fashioned" issue
of the NAVIGATOR is dedicated.
