The students gave up part of their noon hour and met in Miss Beckwith 's room, where the plays were read. Macbeth, Taming of the Shrew, Romeo and Juliet and MidSummer night's Dream were then chosen and cast and the students spent considerable time working on their parts. Fred Adams, a former Delta High student and head of the Shakespearian Festival at S.U.S.C., came and gave the students some invaluable help with their portrayals. A performance was given on April 27th for the students and the public and was very well received. This proved to be a very worth while project for the entire student body as well as for all those who participated. '--si Harris, Cynthia Cox, McKay Shields, and Vicky Jeffery. Finian's Rainbow was a great success. It played to overflow audiences at all three performances. Even the final performance turned out well, despite a series of near tragedies, such as zippers breaking, snow on the stage, car accidents, and the organ failing at the last minute. After many weeks of work and struggle, we did the show with a great deal of pride. We were sad to see it end, but happy to have a chance to relax again. On the final night we awarded our director a trophy and extended himour many loving thanks for all the long hard hours he had put in. Gigi Grayson gave a short speech which said it all. May we all Look to the Rainbow' and may we all meet again in Glocca Morra some fine day! oh! My Gosh!!!!

Deep in December it's nice to Remember, Although you know the snow will follow. Deep in December it's nice to remember, Without a hurt the heart is hollow. Deep in December it's nice to remember The fire of September that made us mellow. Deep in December Our Hearts should Remember and follow. . .. lf you're still trying to figure it out, this was the basic message of the The Fantasticksf' Probably the least trad- itional musical ever presented at Delta High School, it combined many theatrical forms, from Commedia del' arte to absurdism. The Fantasticks has become America's longest running play, and a new and exciting experience for Delta High School.
