JUNCTION MEET Scormg a total of 4112 pomts Delta hlgh schools 1938 track team placed th1rd In the western slope track meet at Grand Junction Frlday afternoon Morrls Bugg and Junror Ray were the star Indlvldual performers of the 15 man Delta team Ray took first place In the h1gh Jump at a heIght of 59 and barely mxssed equallmg hls prevlous mark of two Inches hlgher whIch he made at the Frulta relays last week Bugg placed second In the 220 yard dash event and placed second In the 100 yard charge He was HOSed Out In the latter by Johnny Hammond of Montrose who took the pole vault In n1ce form at a heIght of 113 Bugg also served as anchor man In two relays Lawrence Ellsworth another Delta entry ran a good quarter mIle to grab another second place A fast relay team composed of War ner Sayre Lawson and Bugg won second place In both the 880 yard and 440 yard relay events Enteung the mIle relay upon the spur of the mo ment a team composed of the sam runners w1th the exceptlon of Ells
