CLASS HISTORY We started our freshman year with Mr. Charles Staten as our sponsor and thirty-sixmembers in our class. The Seniors made us go through with the freshman initiation. We went to Jonesboro on our outing and that was something, to be remem- bered. We tried to hold our heads high, even though we were The Underdogs of the high school. We had a good time that year. In our sophomore year we discovered we had lost six of the original class, but we were glad to welcome Faye Etta Collins to make us thirty-one members. This year Mr. CarlHenson was our sponsor. We went to the Community Center at Jones- boro on our outing. We enjoyed the trip very much. We entered our junior year with twenty-five members in our class. We were sorry to have lost five of our classmates, but we were now juniors and had things to do besides grieve over our loses. We elected Mr. RupertHutcherson as our sponsor. He help- ed us to plan our outings. We took the seniors to St. Louis and spenttwo days there. We came back broke but happy. We gave the seniors a banquet at Paragould. It was something to do down in history. While we were juniors we had two boys and one girl play- ing on the senior basketball teams, with others looking forward to making the teams the next year. We started our senior year with twenty-one members. Three of the girls married and one moved to another school. One boy, Coleman Wheeler joined the navy. Four boys and one girl from our class played on the Senior basketball teams. We did many things like making an annual, presenting our Senior play, attending the junior-senior banquet and going on the junior-senior outing. The greatest event of the year was when we received our rings. We are now wearing them as dignified seniors should.
