1. Dear Students of D.N.H.S., Itis hard to explain my feelings as I prepare for one of the greatest moments of my life, yes, my graduation from High School. As I look back in my history I see myself as a Freshman, struggling hard to get my homework done, but also trying to make a big hit with the upper classmen. I elected Leo Marmalejo and Don Howard as my Freshman presidents, and under their leadership I put on a Sock Hop for the Sophomore return and also had a very humorous freshman as- sembly. My Sophomore year started off with a big bang by my giving the Freshmen a very thrilling reception. My Presidents for this year were Tony Roeder and Gene Burdick. I put on a Sophomore assembly, the form of a one-act play entitled Wilbur's Honey Bee, and it received many hearty laughs. And then came my Junior Year. This year I was really a big wheel, yes, a real upper classman. For the first semester, I elected ,loan Mattson, as President, and in the second semester I turned the gavel back to Leo Marmalejo. The auction l held for my ,lunior assembly really helped when it came to paying for the Junior Prom event. The Prom was held at the Fair Grounds Paviliong and with the music by Eddie Clay, it turned out to be a real ball! ' And now I'm a Senior who is being worshipped by the Freshman, honored by the Sophomore, and envied by the Junior. I elected Nick Hampson as my President this year and we put on the first annual Home- coming for Del Norte High School. This event is one that will not be forgotten for many years, with Evelyn Horn as Queen reigning over the celebration, which we called the Football Frolicf, My Senior Play was called 4'Arsenic And Old Lace. This proved to be as hilarious as the actual show. live done so many things this last year such as having-a senior play, a senior picnic, a senior prom, a Mardi Gras, baccalaureate, a senior ban- quet, commencement, and many more unforgettable memories that will stick in my mind forever, because I have just lived some of the best years of my life. Now that l've looked at the past live got to be thinking of the future and what it has in store for me. But before I leave lid like to say, this is not my farewell because our friendship shall grow forever. I remain sincerely yours because I am . . . THE CLASS OF '55
