TIGERS SING KEY The Middle School choir sang loud and clear In their first concert of the year, which con- sisted of all Spanish Folk songs sung In Span- ish. The M.S. choir received a trip to Taos, New Mexico, for doing a fine job on their Spanish concert. This trip had many exciting moments, one of the many was when the buses took a wrong turn and the choir had to sing one of their songs before they ate lunch In Chamayo, N.M. The Middle School director Nona Vanlwarden has been teaching at Del Norte for four years but this was her first all Spanish concert. The concert was a real suc- cess. The all-girl High School choir under the direction of Dennis Murphy performed four times during the year and did an excellent job. 1. Nona Vanlwarden. 2. M.S. BANDS: BACKBONE SCH00 SP RIT The Sixth, Seventh, and Elghth Grade Bands have had a busy year entertalnlng the publlc. The audi- ences have enjoyed three major concerts - Christ- mas, Spring and the End of School year - at which all three bands performed. Along wlth being con- cert performers, the talented musicians also were members of the marching bands. All three bands proudly and rhythmlcally stepped out at Adams State 's Homecomlng ln Alamosa and Tlgers' Home comlng Parade ln Del Norte. For two years now the Mlddle School has had a Stage Band for anyone Interested. This year the Stage Band ls a part of the Mlnl courses. Anyone vlsltlng the Mlddle School would think he had just stepped onto the set of Seventy-Six Trombones. 1.8TH GRADE BAND: Back row: Danlel Tafoya, Dusty Hicks, Jeff Rivera, Jay Miller, Donnie Rob- erts, Bob Bridgewater.
