FHA HAS BECOME A 0-ED CLU I Early ln the school year F.H.A. had a 1 Rush Week . Returnlng members, Christy Goers, Barbara Archuleta, ' and Andrea Wakefield worked very hard to encourage people to joln. The result - 16 members! And four of those are men! For the first time In Del Norte's F.H.A. history, men have decided to become a part of F.H.A. All members of Future Homemakers of America now consider the club's maln purpose to further prepare a person for llvlng by hlmself or for a more understanding marrlage. This was a very busy year for the club. Some of the actlvltles Included a Dlstrlct Convention at Alamosa, a fashion show In December, a community cook book, a canned food drive for Chrlstmas baskets, a bake sale after the plays ln November, a dlnner after the Jr. - Sr. play, and a banquet at the end of school. Today with so many problems Iaclng youth - such as, drugs, Infla- tlon, unrest ln the Middle East, selectlve servlce reglstratlon, high- er educatlon expenses, hostages - lt ls comforting to have an opportunity to meet once a week and dlscuss moral attitudes. During National Hispanic Heritage Week, the girls showed films for students. Also two Hispanic display cases were decorated with pieces of art from Mexlco. During Homecoming, Las Unldas entered a float In the parade, beautifully decorated as La Senorlta. Money-making projects have Included selllng candy and concessions during the volleyball season.
