f 'tr- CERAMICS- Mrs. Archuleta and her informal classes in ceramics have given students an opportunity to create both practical and decorative pieces. Students may select their own greenware, the colors of glazes they wish, thus making this a very creative project. WOOD SHOP - The sound of electric saws, the sawdust in the air, the smell of freshly cut wood are all signs of the birth of an original work of art. Miss Art - In art classes with Mr. Turja, the students do everything from rough sketching to macrameg other projects include scratch board, god's eyes, water coloring, and string art. Mr. Turja teaches methods for finding the right perspective and drawing pic- tures with vanishing points, along with how to use charcoal pencil, using water color brushes and drawing in ink. ,As HOME ECONOMICS - Homemaking is no longer just for know parenting, cooking, sew- ing, and house keeping. USIC A HONOR BAND: The five students chosen for the San Luis Valley Honor Band this year were Dennis Blea, Kelvin Yund, Mike Skaff, Shawna Off, and Doreen Pughe lnot picturedl. Mr. Murphy ac- companied the students to Alamosa on Ianuary 14th and 15th where they performed with many other valley students.
