Right: Band Officers - Ian Heller, Iunior: Alysa Benson, Fresh: Yvonne Velasquez, S.C. Rep.: Iulie Schrader, Sophomore: Shawna Off, Senior. Below: Twirlers - Alysa Benson: Sara Medina: Karen Keeling. Alysa Benson was the newcomer to our twirling squad. She has proved to be a great addition. Then there are the original twirlers, Karen and Sara. These three girls were always out in front of the band, when they marched during homecoming, at dozens of early morning practices, and every day that the band did not march, these outstanding twirlers could be found in the hall practicing new routines and always becoming more expert. Their expertise was demonstrated before an enthusiastic audience during this year's Tiger Rag.

The band did an excellent job this year, especially since the enrollment decreased from fifty-nine in the years 78-79 to thirty-nine for this year. They started out the year by making the trip to Colorado Springs for Air Force Academy Band Day and all through the year they have supported our teams at the home games with an outstanding effort. They played at all the pep assemblies which helped raise the spirit tremendously. If it weren't for the band this year, the Tigers wouldn't have been half as peppy. The school really appreciated all of the support the band provided.
