Alvarez The Chicano Student Union was form- ed this year for a number of reasons. Among these reasons are: to increase understanding between Chicanos, faculty other members of the student body, and people in the community, to encourage Chicanos, faculty, other members of the student body, and people in the community, to unite Chicanos in efforts to help one anoth- er, to combat racism and prejudice, to make people aware ofthe Chicano, his condition, and his environment. Membership is opened to any interest- ed student.

STUDENTS FOR CHANGE Students for Change was founded at the end of last year to further communication between the students and the faculty and administrations. One of their outstanding projects was the convention they sponsored before the mid-year student body elections. Among the student candidates present were Chuck Slyngstad, David Rowe, and john Fisher. Also present to further dialogue was Dr. Montesano, superintendant of schools.
