Boy's State Scott Martin was Del Mar High School's representative at Boy's State. Sponsored by the American Legion, Boy's State drew an attendance of 865 from throughout California. The meeting was held in Sacramento June 18-26. Through lectures, discussions, and elections, mem- bers increased their awareness of the role of the state government. After success- fully campaigning for his office, Scott was elected to the County Board of Super- visors. Girl's State Nancy Bonanno represented Del Mar High School as a member of Girl's State at the University of California at Davis during the week of june 21 thru the 29, 1965. Girl's State is sponsored annually by the American Legion Auxiliary. Along with 550 other girls from various parts of California, Nancy learned about the dif- ferent operations taking place in our state and local governments. Attending lectures and taking part in mock elections was only part of her busy schedule. Nancy also visited the state library, government ollices, and the state capitol. 2
