CAMERA SHY: JoAnn Spang Flag Girls The Del Mar High marching band strutted its way to success during its first year. Much spirit was added to the school by the band's enthusiasm and colorful uniforms. Contributing to the success of the band were the energetic flag girls, the talented maiorettes, and the high-stepping drum major. Many of the school's activities were enhanced by the presence of the band. Some of these included: football half time shows, assemblies, the variety show, and grad- uation. Because of its exceptional ability, the band was allowed to participate in activities outside of the school, which is quite an achievement for a first year band. With such an outstanding year behind it, the Del Mar band will most certainly march on to more awarding accomplishments in the future. The Del Mar High A Cappella Choir, under the leadership of Mr. Frank Triena, has con- tributed greatly to the spirited tradition that has been achieved this year at Del Mar. This 69 member organization has been active in inter'-school as well as inter-community activities. Some of the highlighted performances have been the Del Mar Dedication, the Inter-District Festival, the Christmas Program, the Foreign Exchange Assembly, and the first Graduation. The members can be proud to say they have been a part of the first A Cappella Choir of Del Mar. The Del Mar High Glee Club, also under Mr. Triena's leadership, has added to the school's musical entertainment. This organization has accomplished much this year. They have appeared in assemblies, evening programs, the Christmas Show, and the Spring Concert. The 73 members in the glee club are made up mostly of Freshmen a.nd Sophomores, who will go on to join the choir in the future. LEFT TO RIGHT, FIRST ROW: C. Sharp, K. Mannina, D. Miklovik, A.
