CAMERA SHY: JoAnn Spang Flag Girls The Del Mar High marching band strutted its way to success during its first year. Much spirit was added to the school by the band's enthusiasm and colorful uniforms. Contributing to the success of the band were the energetic flag girls, the talented maiorettes, and the high-stepping drum major. Many of the school's activities were enhanced by the presence of the band. Some of these included: football half time shows, assemblies, the variety show, and grad- uation. Because of its exceptional ability, the band was allowed to participate in activities outside of the school, which is quite an achievement for a first year band. With such an outstanding year behind it, the Del Mar band will most certainly march on to more awarding accomplishments in the future.
