Foreign Exchange Students Aud Ostin-Olsen Susan Todd Dear Seniors of 6O, I knew when I received the letter from American Field Service that told me that I had received the scholarship, that the year would be a wonderful experience. You have been so nice to me, and all of you have contributed to make this the most exciting experience I ever have had. You have made me feel at home at Del Mar, and the school belongs and means just as much to me as to you. I really do not know how l ever will be able to thank you for all the nice things you have done for me. The only thing I wish is that every single one of you, one day would have the opportunity to explore my country, and maybe you will find whatl have found here, kindness, and friends for the rest of my life. I want to thank Mr. Miskulin, the faculty, the students, the community, and all the individuals, who have made this wonderful year possible for me. Sincerely. Aud Ostin-Olsen Norway 107 I feel very honored to have been chosen as the first exchange student under the Amer ican Field Service Summer Program to rep- resent the Campbell High School District abroad during this past summer, and wish to thank the School District, students, and community for this opportunity. lt was a very rewarding experience, and one which will greatly influence my future life. I spent the summer living with two fam- ilies in Germanyg six weeks in Southwestern Germany near Heidelberg , and two weeks in Northern Germany near Bremen. 'l also traveled to Kronach, Bavaria , where Ispent three days, and, from there, visited the border ofEast Germany. I made many lasting friendships and learned many new things. I had no knowledge of the German language, but found this to be no handicap, as the people were very willing to help me, and so I returned home with a working knowledge of their language. I hope that the American Field Service Program will be continued in this district. Sincerely, Susan Todd
