Arma virumque cano- In the belief that the future of a strong nation does not lie entirely in the realm of science, Deering has, through the years, developed and maintained an out- standing language program. French, Spanish and Latin are offered to round Ollt the students' language back- ground. Though only two units of a foreign language are required lor college entrance, many students perfer to continue their studies. Because a student at Deering may study only Latin in the lreslnnan year, the lan- guage prograin is of a three-year duration. In the field .
