ZCOMING IN ON THE SPECIAL SERVICES PROGRAM he purpose ot the special services classes is to assist students develop skills they need to be successful in classes, T That is Mrs. Murnane's estimation of the special services program. Some classes in this area include math, science, reading, English, and social studies, along with vocatlonally geared classes and tutorial programs which help students survive in regular classes. LOOKING AT THE WORLD OF SCIENCE hat is science? According to the dictionary, science is a classification of knowledge concerning some subject. In simpler terms, science is a i conglomeration of subjects like chemistry, biology, astronomy, and anatomy, torname a few. Deer Valley offers a wide variety of science classes, including the ones mentioned above. Last year, Deer Valley held its first science fair, with about 450 to articipants. Prizes were awarded three categories: lite science, Q i V science, and medical. arts. r All entries were awarded a certificate of participation. The Deer Valley Science Fair was one of the biggest in the state aridf we will exceed the efforts of last V X year when we host the 1987 i science fair this spring.
