They practiced about two or three times a week, with each practice lasting approximately two and a half hours. The team improved steadily from the beginning of the season. Coach Marchese said, The team was extremely successful because they came together and played as a team even though there were many different personalities. Two of their most outstanding players were senior, Cori Darnell and junior, Stacey Frate. Cori was an excellent first baseman who saved many bad throws and turned them into outs, Coach lvlarchese explained. She was also one of the team's best hitters. Stacey was the team's number one pitcher. We broke two school records by pitching the most strikeouts this season and having the most innings pitched. Stacey also won two games by hitting homeruns.
