E FORT KEEPS TEAM IN STRIDE he Deer Valley Cross Country team enjoyed a successful season under the guidance of coach Clyde Tubick and Melissa Lamb. The past Cross Country season was an exciting one. Deer Valley represented themselves well in all of our meets as well as divlsionals. All the runners on the four teams truly put forth a fine effort all year. I feel that all of our runners lived up to our philosophy of developing their mental and physical abilities, exhibition a positive attitude, trying and maintaining self-discipline and dedication through the season. These participants should be proud of their efforts . Coach Tubick quoted. The Varsity team achieved a 7-12 for the boys and a 4-12 record for the girls. The JV also did well with a 6-8 record and the freshman team ended the season with a 3-10 record. There were several individuals that won the best runner award: Jim Brown and Tanzy Toves Varsity, David Hauff JV, and Rick Toves for Freshman. Other award winners were Kirk Borg and Steve Carroll most improved, and Dan Daugherty, Tony Scavuzzo, Amber Upton and Jenny Zumstein forthe Coaches Award.
