QUICK START sseins sEAsoN he junior varsity football team end- ed the season with a 3-6 record. Head coach Don Cline stated that The team has had a strong season as a whole. The strong players of the season included Andy Mcllveen, Scott Villareal, and Vinne Capasso. At the game against Brophy, Vinne Ca- passo ran a 65 yard kickoff return for a touchdown return. According to Coach Valenzuela, the fol- lowing players look promising: Jerry Da- vis, Scott Villereal, Vinnie Capasso and Cari Stevenson to name a few. The freshman football team accom- plished more than is reflected on their record. Head coach Flint Swerdfeger quipped Our record wasn't very good, but we improved a tremendous amount, and the players never quit. The recipients of awards this season are as follows: Chris Reed and Ed Cons as best defensive players, Kevin Miller and Matt Bayus for most improved players, and the coaches award went to Noah Peery. Ed Cons gave his opinion on the season as, Fine, l mean we achieved our goals, most of them through the season and we all tried our hardest. We enjoyed the sea- son. A Freshmen Football. nvolvement brings win he football spiritline is cheering its way to victory with help from its sponsor, Robert Sarjeant. Sponsoring Spiritline keeps me young-at-heart but turns my hair grey at the same time, commented Sarjeant. The varsity captain is Heather lvlclntyre and the co-captain is Wendy Suttle. The JV captain and co-captain are Bobbi Sauter and irish lVlcCarthy. The varsity spiritline has won many awards such as the Universal Dance Camp award, where they got 2nd place in pomp and the U.C.A. cheer camp where they received two first place awards. The Varsity spiritline has 12 girls and five boys, one mascot and one manager. The JV team has six girls. Spiritline promotes interest in the game and gets the crowd cheering for their team which gives the players self-confidence. as JV SPIRITLINE Senior, Kristi Howell, loves cheering for Varsity football in tront of the large crowds that supported our team.
