X... 5 E-ki SGPHOIVICRE SWIIVIS TC EXCELLENCE efore moving to Arizona from Minnesota in 1980 Sean Geraghty, sopho- more was on a swim team called the Pigeons. For the two years that he was with them he won 40 ribbons, 20 trophies, 35 medals and 20 certificates. Considering that he was not yet seven this was quite an achievement. After moving to Arizona he started to swim at Glendale Community College. He joined the team Gau- chos, and for four years they were number one in the state. With the help of his three coaches: Bill, Charlie and Bud he mastered his strokes. His favor- ites are the freestyle and but- terfly strokes. He has received national recognition in setting re- cords in the 100 yard, 100 meter, 50 yard, 50 meter, and the 200 yard. He has competed in differ- ent states such as California, Texas and all over Arizona. I have won many awards, states Sean, They number in the 100's, and although l've thought about the Olympics and I love my sport very much, l've decided to stop competing for a while. lvlay- be someday l'll go back to swim- ming, but for now, no.
