Cflaaa Hmtoftq We the Sen1or Class of 1957 w1sh to express our gratttude and apprectatton to the faculty for gutdmg us and helptng us through our four years of htgh school As we approach gradua tton we ltke to thtnk back over those memorable years Please Jotn us as we Journey back over those four short years 4 As we entered our freshman year w1th a class of 54 students 1n September of 1953 we were glad that we had at last entered h1gh school Our homeroom teachers that year were MISS Dtshman and Mr Campbell They helped us very much to get establtshed tn hlgh school hfe We d1dn't have very many aCt1Vlt16S that year Our many BCIIVIIICS were all ahead of us tn the three years to come X j By our sophomore year, the number of students had decreas ed to 50 Our homeroom teachers were Mtss Baker and Mr Mc Lellon We sponsored two Hobo Dances whtch were both very successful More of our classmates Jotned the var1ous clubs In our Juntor year we all began thtnktng about and planntng for that btg event the Jumor Sentor Prom Our homeroom teachers Ivltss Baker and Mtss Hood helped us tn planntng how to ratse money for the prom We sponsored dances after the ball games, sold food and sold programs In the early sprtng a sports contest conststtng of track events, was held tn the Deep Creek Stadtum Members of our Jumor Class won many of the events tncludtno the mtle race By May, we had all excttedly ordered our class rtngs and could hardly watt to get them Ftnally came the btg event we had all watted for the Juntor Sentor Prom We all helped to decorate for tt The theme was Moonltght and Roses We had whlte rose trelltses vxtth ptnk roses ptnk streamers reachtng from the trelltses to the cetltng and a yery romanttc stlver moon on one stde We all had a wonderful ttme and we are sure the sentors enyoyed tt In our semor year we were all together tn one homeroom and our sponsor was Mtss Baker Our frrst event was the long awatted Rtng Dance The dance was held on a Saturday ntght ue all stood tn a ctrcle and as our names were called we went forward and our rtngs were placed on our ftngers by Mrs Baker We chose our class colors blue and stlxer our class flower the red rose and our motto The hard road leads to the statmay of the stars We were the ftrst class to wear drapes for our semor ptctures We all emoyed ordertng our calltng cards tnwttatrons, and thank you notes ln February we started work on our semor play whtch was Father of the Brtde Then we began to plan our sprtng dance As we look back over these last four years, we ftnd that we have really enyoyed them As we approach graduatton we wonder just what the years to come hold tn store for us Whatever tt ts we know we can meet tt thanks to the preparatton we hate recetyed from our school and faculty Judy Ashenhurst ml W u , ffffl 0 . . l . - qc 'Vp . . . , X ..' . i ' QE ' anim i l lt 'lf mn 'lxk f ' . . f J , fly' D lllllxil X' ' Xxy n ' - f X lllypffff
