I b . , ' ' ' ' ' Cyan .Maier Being the flrst class under the new f1ve year educatronal system we entered the etghth grade as beginner Pilots of the new Deep Creek Jet Corporatron ln September of 1947 Wrth Mrs I C Watson and Mrs H H Mxller as co pllots we had a smooth Journey w1th the exception of a few storm clouds At the frrst of our Journey we started out wtth a crew of seventy frve A the result of smashed dreams and hopes some of the crew balled out at Mars After our long journey to Mars our co pilots were replaced by Mrs Mama Deal and Miss Betty Davis As we soared through space many of the student pilots realrzed that they were not as competent as they should be These were left at the planet Iuptter durrng thls phase of the flight from earth to Saturn Under the careful guidance of our co pllots for our Sophomore year Mrss Betty Davxs and Mlss Beverly Owens we contrnued our journey to Saturn The brggest event of the year was the Sophomore Semor Prom In the year 1950 51 sailing smoothly along we acqurred one new co pilot Mrs Miller takmg the place of Mrss Davu As we came ln sight of Neptune we saw great thtngs rn store for the mighty Junior Class At last the Junior Class was recognized Faye Berry our candrdate for the December Frolics was crowned Queen At mid term we lost our other co p1lot Mtss Owens and gaxned ever smtltng Mr Herbert Phtllps to take her place The Juntor Class presented a play This Night Beware to raise funds for the Rrng Dance As the year on the planet grew to a close the big wonderful event The RingDance finally came into view with many hearty greet ings and class rings At last our Journey was nearly complete and we started traveling back to earth From the very ftrst of our journey the Seniors were as busyas bees To begin w'lth the Annual Staff was selected and began working The Senior Class Play The Campbells Are Coming was selected Along with the excitement of ordering calling cards and invitations the Seniors planned their big vacation the long awaited trip to Washington D C The Senior Class picked one of the student pllou Nancy Wilson to represent their class as May Queen Whrle we were still on our Journey thirteen of our pilots bailed out at the planet of Matrimony As we come near the earth we hear the falnt strains of Pomp and Cxrcumstance as Mrs Miller and Mrs Porter help us prepare our parachutes to shove us through the door of this new exciting and adventurous world. 24 O s . . .
