Entered the school as sophomores and were told there was a swimming pool on the third floor held our first class elections . . . joined in the spirit of our first rally . . . dreaded midyears . . . started double sessions . . . tried our rings on for the first time . . . made new friends. Yesterday, all my troubles seemed so far away . . . Then we were iuniors. Remember when we . . . Entered the new wing for the first time . . . celebrated our foot- ball co-champs . . . laughed at loud- speaker announcements . . .ended double sessions . . . grew a Southern plantation in the gym . . . typed our first twenty words a minute- without mistakes . . . watched the seniors graduate . . . started real- izing our worlds were too small. I want to be free, like the bluebird flying by me . . . Then we were seniors. Remember when we . . . Told the freshman there was a swimming pool on the third floor . . . made sure that we had an easy schedule . . . filed into the audito- rium for the first time and saw everyone standing . . . cheered our teams harder than ever . . . became club presidents . . . planned our last high school prom . . . all tried out for a part in the senior play . . . started thinking about the future . . . said our good-byes. The time has come for clos- ing books and long last looks must end . . . Now we can only remember. ,gr ,Q 'Ig' Q-3 1, ,J f,,s'.f ' gig! f 151.35 2412 4. .., ,,-. ,f .,, ,... -4,-. ,, ,f.'g,- ,.':A,p .,.,. , u1'.r.v 5 4 I Haifa f , ffm, ' ffm- ,?, ..,.Ly,f- fl - Q. 5g L -1 'V FQ L. THRU TARA TQ.. 1 TO THE ADMINISTRATIQN . 33 Mr. James Dunne Superintendent .W 1 1 Mr. Harry McKay Administrative Assistant Many thanks for the guid- ance and consideration of the past years. Sometimes we failed to realize that there were other offices beyond those with which we were im- mediately concerned. Some- times it seems we forgot the importance of authority and the many headaches and responsibilities that accom- panied it. Yet, we will always remain grateful for the guid- ance no matter how self- assured we may have seemed. Mr. Joseph Bell Freshman-Senior Housemaster 7. S Mr. Charles 'F' A ' Foley J Sophomore- Junior Housemaster Mr. Thomas F. O'Donne11 Principal To the Graduating Class of I969 We hope that good fortune follows you throughout the coming years. Most sincere congratulations on achieving your diploma are extended to you, and we also sincerely thank the many members of the class who contributed to making Dedham High School a better school than when you first entered in l966. Ralph Waldo Emerson's words can be followed to your advantage in the years to come: Whatever course you decide upon, there is always someone to tell you, you are wrong. There are always difficulties arising which tempt you to believe that your critics are right. To map out a course of action and follow it to the end requires some of the same courage which a soldier fl , 'fd' r vw l J H. .1 needs. We have profited in the past from his thoughts, and we hope they have a meaning for you. Most sincerely yours, Mr. Nicholas Desalvo Vice-Principal To The Class of i969 Graduation is a time not only for enjoying congratulations from others, but a time for personal reflection, for taking stock of your assets and making certain that your plans for the future have been carefully chosen, in order to fully develop that potential which is you. A successful life is lived most fully not only in bringing to reality its own dreams, but in helping to fulfill those of others.
