We Read With Interest gf MISS DOROTHY KENDALL MISS RUTH BAKER xi Q , 1 f MR. ARTHUR BARKER Miss Kendall, head of the English department, introduced us to the literary masters of our language. Her outside interests include FM radio, detective stories, and dancing. We appreciated her help in preparing for the college boards. Mr. Barker has an unusual talent for mixing fun with learning, While we were laughing at his jokes, we had to. be alert and ready for a sudden off-beat question. To Mr. Barker is due credit for expanding our audio-visual programr Miss Baker succeeded in presenting entertaining as well as informative English classes, She enjoys music and reading, and is a trustee of the Dedham Public Library. In Miss Baker's class, reading Beowulf was almost nice. Miss O'Grady strove to give us an appreciation as well as an understanding of lit- erature. She was unfailingly patient and understanding as advisor to the Mirror and Reflerliom. Golf, reading, theatre, and the Alfred Hitchcock show claim her attention away from school. Mrs. Downes, our reading instructor, joined us in senior year. Included among her various interests are sports and sewing, Our thanks to Mrs. Downs for helping so many of us to increase our reading capabilities. MISS MARGUERITE O'GRADY MRS.
