8 I) EDIT AM HIGH SCHOOL. every one of the two hundred and four questions. The lowest one admitted had given one hundred and seventy-two correct answers, or eighty-four per cent. The school opened Monday, Sept. 15, 1851, and occupied Masonic Hall till September, 1854, when it was removed to the Town House on Bullard street. During the summer of 1855 a High School House was erected on Highland street, and was dedicated on the tenth of December. The school remained there nearly twenty-two years. The present High School House was first occupied October 3, 1887. It is the purpose of this catalogue, so far as it is historical, to indicate the family ties, the occupations, and the residences of all who have been members of the school. As most of the facts concerning those who are still living have been obtained directly from the persons themselves, and as those relating to the dead have generally been supplied by their nearest relatives, it is presumed that the record is accurate. In a few instances, however, no information could be obtained ; but it is hoped that all persons, who have furnished material for this catalogue by filling out the circulars, will find that careful use has been made of their valuable assistance. If errors still exist in the work, it must be excused on the ground that all human performances are subject to imperfections. As it was not convenient to make any other classification, both the teachers and the students are arranged in the catalogue according to the years when they became connected with the School. The Post Office address is printed in Italics.
