Theteachers at Decatur High try to prepare each student for college, and, in this way, give them knowledge of a subiect which will be of great help to them as they progress in society. The Social Studies department has always played an important part in the student's preparation for good citizenship and knowledge of government. This year the emphasis on these subiects has increased because of the addition of a psychology course to our curriculum. Highlights of our school year included the many polls taken by Mr. Jones's govern- ment classes and the field trip to Bryce Hospital in Tuscaloosa, token by the psychology classes.
