He was recog- nized all state for his excellent punting. As co-captain and Decatur's bid for All-State selection, we're looking forward to Bobby's having a very successful year in 'l947. GILBERT THRASHER-Gilbert is next year's co-captain who came back from the Navy and played excellent ball. He was well liked by his teammates and possessed the courage which it takes to win football games. IOHN BRASWELL- Bras Stepping into the regular position at center with the iniury of Phillips, Bras filled the position well. He was a good line backer with plenty of scrap. RAYMOND BROOKS-Brooks is the fleet-footed boy who excited the fans in the Crossville game with his good broken-field running. With his experience in '46 and a little more weight, he should develop into a fine player and a constant threat to every l947 opponent. Down 2 ATLEE PHILLIPS- Dopey. The tougher the going the better he liked it-that can be said of Dopeyf He earned his center position by hard work and this hard work made 'him hold the respect of ,his fellow players. Misfortune overtook him in the Huntsville game and from his hos- pital bed he cheered the Raiders to victory. Top, Left to Right: DORWYN BRASWELL- Skunky, He was a tackle who had the size and ability to block and tackle hard. He was a scrapper and seemed to like it best when the going was hard. BILLY IOE TERRYA-Although Billy joe did not play a great deal this season, he never quit trying. He is due credit for he gave the regulars some of the rough times they receive in ball games. ELMON TERRY- Elmo Elmo was a returning C. l, who was rough and tough. Although he was bothered by injuries throughout the season, he played the ball of which he was capable. FREDDIE HORN- Old Man Horn was the big boy who was always there. Rough and tough as he is, he filled many holes where an almost certain gain was coming. Down 2 AUBREY FREE- Squeak Squeak was the heaviest end 'to ever play on a Raider team. He proved he could use this weight by throwing the enemy for many losses.
