During her twelfth year at Decatur, Mrs. Silvers helped to sponsor the junior class and the FHA club. The Future Homemakers of America QFHAJ club had a busy year. One of the Club's many projects was a canned food drive at Christmas. The canned foods were distributed to the needy throu hout Decatur. As the annual fund raiser, some club members and their friends wrap ed Christmas presents for Poco Graphite after school. Those who participated were: julie Perkins, Carrie Doss, julie Waller, Thea Woodruff, Crista Campbell, Monty Neighbors, Melissa Barton, and Traci Newcomb. FFA CUTS Texas Decatur Future Farmers of America have been busy prepar- ing and participating in area con- tests all over the state. Contests that the FFA have competed in in- clude, North Texas State Fair in Denton, Dallas State Fair, Fort Worth Fat Stock Show, Houston Stock Show, FFA Leadership Chico Project Show, and also the Wise County Youth Fair held hear in Decatur. AWN r gguuttil Ag teacher Brent Williams attended Tarleton State University. He received a B.S. degree in Agriculture Education. He teaches Vocational Ag III, IV, and co-op Ag. Mr. Williams has taught at Decatur High School for 13 years Phillip Askey, on the other hand is new at Decatur High School. He also attended Tarleton State University and received a B.S. Ag Education degree. Mr. Askey sponsors the FFA as well as the Rodeo Team. The Decatur FFA would like to give special thanks to Brent Williams, Sam Rector, and Phillip Askey for their support ps.
