-Boys and girls basketball team s went to Jacksboro,
Girls won, Senior and Junior boys lost.
-F. H. A. and F. F. A. made annual tr ip to Fat Stock
Show at Fort Worth and returned broke.
-Band got free tickets for Rodeo and Fat Stock Showg
played a concert for Rodeo patrons.
-Jacksboro c am e here, girls won Southern half, boys
lost out.
-Girls lost first place to Alvord in County Tournament,
but received trophy for second place.
-Boys play best game of the year in defeating strong
Slidell team 47-3 l .
-Doctors and nurses were here today and pupils from
all grades were prepared to take their shots.
-Debators, declaimers, and extemporaneous speakers
went to Waco to match their wits with other high school
students. The Doctors had their needles sharp again
this week.
-Girls edged over Henrietta in first game of Northern
half of the district l0A by 37-36.
-Boys received football jackets at banquet sponsored
by Eagle C lub.
-F. F. A. boys honored their fathers at annual Father
and Son banquet.
-Girls rolled over Henrietta for the district 10A crown
41-33.
-Bloomers were the style at the high school gym when
the teachers met the P. T. A. in a g r eat Basketball
game.
Track and field event boys went to Farrington Field
to compete in Southwest Field and Track Day.
-F. F. A. boys and a District Livestock Judging Day at
home.
Decatur F. F. A. boys went to Arlington for Area IV
Livestock and Dairy Judging Contest.
Decatur went to Bowie for the Interscholastic League
Track Meet.
Good old holidays. Seems everybody was r eady for
them, even the teachers.
-The Band de cided to give the public a little of the
punishment the school goes through every day. They
gave a concert.
Decatur went back to Bowie to gain more points in
Interscholastic League. This timein Literary events.
House packed, lights dimed, curtain rose , D. H. S. pre-
sented their Senior play, Beauty ? Qiilfbeef.
Choral Club and the Band solo s, duets, etc. went to
Denton for Music Festival.
Band showed its ability to play its overtures at the
Festival in Denton.
Juniors expressed their love and appreciation for the
dignified Seniors at the Junior-Senior Banquet.
Senior day-guess what happened.
The word dignified certainly fitted the Seniors for the
first time in four years as they marched down the aisle
for Baccalaureate.
Tears of joy and tear s of sadness were shed at the
graduation of the De catur High School l95O Class.
