N VL., A Jr. Miss Karen Wilmoth 0 T TANDING T DE REPRESE T DHS There are a lot of outstanding stu- dents at DI-IS, but there are always a few that really stand out. First there's the Boy Staters and Girl Staters. These students are chosen by the activities in which they participate, their leadership ability, and grades. They also have many requirements they have to live up to. Then there's Mr. and Miss DI-IS. This is any girl and boy picked from grades 7-12. They are picked by popularity and what they've done for the school. Junior Miss is another proud title to hold. You represent your school at the district contest and then some get to go on to the state pageant. For this you are chosen on talent, leadership, grades, appearance, physical fitness, poise, and personality. There are also the Seniors who represent Decatur at Empire Dis- trict Electric Company's banquet for area Seniors. The group for this is chosen from leadership, grades, and activities. Picked on poise and person- ality, Miss Decatur represents the town as well as the school.
