EXCHANGE STUDENTS GET A GLIMPSE OF AMERICA. Sponsored by the “Youth for Un- derstanding” program, two foreign students attended De Smet High School. Maria Salas from Mexico and Antti Leskinen from Finland joined the Senior class in the fall. Maria made her home with Rever- end and Mrs. Carl Evans. Her favorite class was office practice and her plans include getting a job as a secretary and learning to speak English better. Antti attended school in Helsinki, Finland before he came to De Smet to live with Mr. and Mrs. Bert Stewart. While in the United States. Antti ac- quired many favorites. His philosophy of life is, “The end of the world can’t come today because somewhere in the world it’s morning.” Antti participated in “You’re a Good Man, Charlie Brown.” 27
