Re iew 0 S and then dump Flushing 13-0. A little too cocky over three straight shut-outs, we dropped a hard- fought contest to a spirited Evander team, 13-7. But, once again coming back, we climaxed our season with a 26-0 romp over Monroe. Big Fred Hovasapian, who made starting fullback on the I-A All-City team, and received the M.V.P. Award for the outstanding player in the Stuyvesant game, led Clinton in scoring with 38 points, while the sophomore sensation Buster Wolosky, lugged the leather for four touchdowns. joe Shelton came in third in scoring honors with two T.Dfs and this is pretty good considering that Ioe is a line backer who only plays on defense. Rounding out the rest of the offensive backfield are: Happy Felton, Bob Buckner, Herb Lipschitz, Bob Brown, Tony Bari, and Len Morris. Our great defense, only 13 points scored on us in 5 PSAL games, centered around the tre- mendous linebacking of john "Dukes Wellington and Herb 'LBlackie" Lipschitz, who both played most of the season with bad ankles. Pass defense was also handled by these two, plus Shelton, Wolosky, and Cedric Wolfman who played stel- lar ball, especially in the last few games. These players, plus the big forward wall consisting of Slimowitz, Mischel, Picarillo, Chivily, Couravich, Boumanis, Burnett, Considine, and Soffa, who were led by the hard-charging defensive ends, Fred Hovasapian and Fred Cerenser fa fellow who played terriiic ball all seasonj, make up the 1951 Bronx-Manhattan Champs. Once again we give a lot of credit to Coach Hank Iacobsohn and his backfield coach, Joe Consagra. We wish them and next yearis co- captains, John Chivily and George Roumanis, the best of luck in the 1952 season. Hovasapian breaks loose behind Couravich blocking Stuyvesant tackler spilled as Hovasapian gains ground .
