Orchestra Close harmony comes with hours of practice. Under the baton of Mr. Jack Tongring, the orchestra has taken part in many musical ac¬ tivities during the year. On February 28, the Tad Philharmonic entertained the student body with its fine music at the annual Midwin¬ ter concert. Then in the spring, they returned to the DeVilbiss auditorium to present their Spring concert. The date of this performance was May twentieth. In addition to entertaining the De¬ Vilbiss students, the orchestra also partook in other forms of musical activities. For instance, exchange concerts were scheduled in which our orchestra went to other schools to play, and in return, those schools sent their orchestras to perform here. Mr. Tongring also planned to visit the grade schools whose students would at¬ tend DeVilbiss, to arouse interest among pros¬ pective members of future DeVilbiss orchestras. Mr. Tongring hopes that these efforts will main¬ tain the high musical standards of past DeVil¬ biss orchestras. 84
