BUSINESS EDUCATION uTake a letter. The duck of typewriters is a familiar sound in business education classes, for the typing courses are by far the most popular. Short- hand, dictation and transcription, and secre- tarial practice are also offered, however, to prepare students for the business world ahead. Although the Business Education Department does not offer a major, it nevertheless has a vital role in the curriculum as a supplement to economics, English, education, and psychology majors. M. Chemistry Club The Chemistry Club provides an opportunity for advanced chemistry students to discuss tech- nical aspects of their subject outside the confines of the Classroom. As a student chapter of the American Chemical Society, the DePauw group receives the latest chemistry literature; and, since most chemistry majors attend graduate school, information about the various schools is a com- mon topic of discussion. An annual trip to Indianapolis to the Eli Lilly plant, the Water Works, and the Rock Island Refinery affords them a Chance to see various fields ofchemistry at work. Top Row: L Pontius, G. Monthly meetings provide an opportunity to see A.M.A. movies and to hear doctors discuss the latest medical htdopc. An annual trip to IL? Med School at Indian- apolis serves as an inspiration to this discouraged, wistful group; in addition, it gives those suffering from Vitamin D deficiency tdue to being cooped up in labsh a wonderful opportunity to get out- side and absorb some sunshine.
