Preparations had been brewing long in advance for DePauw sorceresses to spirit their chosen men away to a place of enchantment. On Halloween night between 9:00 and midnight, strange magical sounds were heard from the U.B. Reading The DePauw after supper was a ritual in which nearly all Depauwites participated. The sandwichman has become an established DePauw tradition. Hungry students welcomed the study break he brought, and he welcomed their financial support.
