Early on registration days, several hundred students lined up eagerly in Front ol Bowman Gym. Some hours later they emerged in various stages ol exhaustion. What had happened? First, as the classes were usually Filled, beluddled Depauwites had to juggle their schedules and change courses, Next came such a battery ol questionnaires that many harried students forgot even their own names. But before they could creep out of the red tape, the Comp- troller took them and their money in hand. At least one thing can be said about the merits ol registration-it was an excellent way of weeding out those without the nth degree of endurance. 26
