Bartlett, Dean of the University. l-lis Friendly manner and unsurpassed leadership has helped in making Depauw the Fine institution that it is today. The friendly man who plays from his heart might be a compact description of Dr. Van Denman Thompson, Dean of the Music school, a nationally known Figure in the organ world. This year the task of guiding the male student body at De Pauw has assumed new propor- tions. Dean Louis l-I. Dirks, aided by his background of experience and his genuine understanding has capably led DePauw's male contingent. QFKK Miss Leoto C. Colpitts, Dean of Women, constitutes o very important part of DePauw. Through her kind understanding, DePauw studentsfwomen and men alike-have overcome prob- lems which Otherwise would have been unanswered chal- lenges.

BEHIIIIJ THE SPIRIT A long-awaited vision, the almost legendary Union Building, will soon become a reality. Through the elforts ot the Board ol Trustees and the Alumni association, the building-Fund campaign is growing to immense proportions. A 43-member organization, the Board oI Trustees is that part ot the composite administration ol Depauw University which baclcs all eI'Iorts beneliting the school. It is this organization which plans and executes all investments, handles scholarships, and confers all honorary degrees.
