Rev L F Zoeller MrssM Prper Rev I E Brennan Rev P 7 Drlrberto C M A M Accountant M A M C M A M Rev L Zoeller has been associated wrth the Academy for several years and durrng that trme has made many frrends among the students He contrnuously awes the students by hrs qurck and some trmes coy puns The sedate way rn whrch he conducts hrs Englrsh Relrgron and math classes and rncrdentally rebukes offenders has been the object of much lrrendly crrtrcrsm among the student body Mr s Prper has been servrng De Paul students rn the capacrty of Accoun ant for two years now Prevrously assocrated wrth De Paul she cannot be consrdered a new comer Through her oblrgmg manner rn dealrng wrth students Mrss Prper has become a srncere frrend to us all Father Ioseph Brennan has shown that a profes or can teach mathema rcs and strll remarn popular ln hrs two years at De Paul he has become one of the most ardent followers of athletrcs among the faculty Hrs rngenrous method ol teachrng and hrs perpetual smrle go together to make up one ot the most popular teachers In the future years we hope to see Fr Brennan occupyrng an ever rncreasrngly popular posrtron at De Paul Although Fr Drlrberto has taught at De Paul for only two years he has become one of the most popular faculty members Hrs genral personalrty has enabled hrm to acqurre many frrends Fr Drlr bertos pronounced organrzrng ahrlrty rs shown rn hrs handlrng of De Paul s Bowlrng Club ln a few short months he was able to expand thrs sport from an average actrvrty rnto the largest rntramurat group rn the Academy Rev E I Brennan Mr T H Rorke Mr H F Taylor Rev W M Krrschten Mr T M Iustus CMAM AM MMus CMAM MMus Rev Edward Brennan rnstructor of Mathematrcs rs a modest unassumrng man However rn Fr Brennans classes no one takes advantage of the rnstructors good nature rf he values hrs lrfe Hrs method of teachrng rs strarghtforward and he succeeds rn rnstrllrng hrs rdeas rnto the mrnd ol the student Fr Brennans support of all Academy actrvrtres rs a source of rnsprratron to all who take part rn them Though Mr Rorke has taught at De Paul only two years rt rs by no means new to hrm for he attended the Academy as a student hrmsell For thrs reason he rs well acquarnted wrth the average De Pauhte Ho has met wth great acclarm from all srdes Mr Rorke rs noted chrefly for hrs studies rn economrcs though he also teaches Hrstory and Enalrsh The Academy Chorr rs under the expert drrectron of Mr R F Taylor for the second consecutrve year He took up the posrtron last year after the term had already begun We owe the rmproved srngrng rn church on Frrday mornrngs and the hne concerts grven durrng the year to hrs caretul and precrse coachrng There have been several De Paul students who have gone on to become teachers and ultrmately return to De Paul rn the drrvers seat Fr W Krrschten rs an Academy alumnus Though he has been here for a comparatrvely short trme Father Krrschten has been elevated to the popular group f Academy rnstructors Hrs consrderatron of student problems rn Englrsh and Relrgron classes whrch h teaches has garned for hrm the respect of many boys Mr 'l' Iustus drrects the bands of both the Academy and the Unrversrty The frrm but smrlrng manner rn which he handles the boys of the band has grven De Paul a polrshed musrcal group whrch supplres those peppy marches at our football and basketball games Hrs band could be heard almost every week durrng the college basketball season performrng at the Chrcago Stadrurn supportrng De Paul Unrversrty s powerful basketball squad CLCU,

McCabe Mr S O McCune Rev C I McCarthy C M A M C M A M Father Gaughan xs comparatlvely new at De Paul having arnved only last year But dunng that txme he has shown by hls youthful vigor and stern declsxveness that he has the we'fare of the stu dents at heart Father Gaughan has thxs year assumed the posxtxon of PREP moderator Through hxs xnstructxon ln English and Sociology he has come in contact with most students at De Paul Our Mechamcal Drawing Professor Mr McCabe is an amxable man well lxked by the entire student body He always has a srrule for everyone and his wide range of knowledge IS at the hand of any student any txme After school hours he has found txme to become Moderator of the Camera Club wluch ln a great part owes xts success to Mr McCabe Our yovxal Professor of History and Mathematxcs Mr McCune IS well known to freshmen and seniors alike He xs partxcularly liked because of the outslde and he IB always wxllxng to give to any student Kxnd considerate and amxahle he holds a high positron ln the esteem of all He xs now ln has thxrd year at De Paul De Paul Academy has its own Word War l hero ln the form of Fr C McCarthy Father Mac IS the instructor that teaches rellglon with that lxttle spnnklmg of humor that keeps the subpect frorn becomxng dry Hxs practxce ot supplementing the matenal contained xn the hook wxth hxs own knowledge gleaned durmg hxs travels around the corners of the earth meet wxth the umted approval of Academy students Rev W Cook Mr M Baron Rev F O Malley Mr F Ienks C M A M Ph B C M A M Ph B The Rev W Cook is new teaching Latxn and Relxgxon at hxs hxgh school alma mater Before entenng the seminary he attended De Paul Academy for the full four years He was ordained l943 He xs a favorlte with the under classmen wath whom he comes most xn contact as an xnstructor Not every hugh school has an Instructor who attended the Sorhonne ID Pans but Mr Max Baron teacher of the Romance Languages went there Already he IS known to many students and is a prominent faculty member Actxng rn the capacxty of moderator of the Franco Spanish Cl.xb and the Chess Club Mr Baron has proved that he 1 interested ln extra curricular actxvrtles Another new arnval at the Academy this year IS the Rev F OMalley He xs teachxng Englxsh Latm and Religion to the underclassmen Prevmously he was engaged rn pansh work among the whlte and colored Cathohcs at Cape Grrardeau Massoun In 1943 Father O Malley traveled about as a motor nussxoner A former student of De Paul University and athletlc coach at Loyola Academy is the present coach of the Heavywexght Football Team and instructor of Spamsh and English He IS Mr Frank Ienks who arnved this year He was a leadxng athlete in high school where hxs outstanding play earned for hun the honors of All Catholrc center Hxs exnert traxnxng and boundless enthusiasm resulted ln a notxceable renewal last season of De Paul Academys hghhng splnt CLCU f .1 ..
