We, the Senior Class of 61, being possessed of somewhat sound mind and dull memory and yet knowing the extent in value of our property do hereby ordain, publish and declare this to be our last will and testament, since this Senior Class of the DeLand- Weldon Senior High School, State of Illinois, will soon cease to exist. I, Karen Atteberry, will my three hall lockers to Earlene Benningfield in hopes that she will be able to find her lost books. I, Bill Baker, will my ability to play all night and sleep all day to Monk Player in hopes that he may uphold my record achievements. I, Ron Brinkman, will my ability to get in trouble with Mrs. Kurz to Rodney Peterson. I, Harry Burge, will my ability to run the mile to Carl John Persons and David Woolridge, maybe between both of them they might make it. I, Essel Burton, will my ability to stay out of trouble with Mr. Halcom to Larry Roberts. I, Judy Burton, will my ability to play volleyball to Sue Scroggs in hopes she can do a better job next year. I, Bill Carr, will my assortment of jokes to my brother, Jim, so that he may keep the bus trips as lively as I did. I, Loren Dunlap, will my lunchroom job of scraping dishes to Sandra Tudor. I, John Gibson, will my basketball ability to Bobby Leischner. I, Dave Gregory, will my wavy hair to Terry Holtz in order that he may find a girlfriend. I, Johnnie Hammond, will my ability to scrape the food out of the plates to John Workman so he will not go hungry all his life. I, Carol Hopkins, do hereby will my natural blonde hair to Sally Benge. I, Rosetta Huisinga, will my ability to be friendly to everyone to Shirley Baker. I, Becky Leischner, will my clarinet squeaks, all of them, to Lynnie Ferguson. I, Larry Long, will my ability to get along with Mr. Gregory to Dick Halcomb. I, Bessie Long, will Brenda Mitchell all the latest news in hopes that she will keep it circulating. I, Ann Ludwig, hereby will my ability to maintain peace in seventh hour study hall to Carolyn Burton. I, Gay Manning, will all the fun I had in P. E. this year to Carolyn Riddle and Carmen Wilson in hopes they can make the locker room as riotous as I did. I, Don Mason, will Dick Hoffman my ability to run the 440 yd. dash. I, Carl Morell, will my internal meanness to my cousins, Lyndal and Lynda Nebel. I, Janet Myerscough, will my ability to keep my head above the water to my brother, Howard. I, Bob Nixon, will my yearbook headaches to ’’Monk” Player in hopes that he will have more co-operation from his staff and advisor. I, John Perkins, will my ability to get along with Mr. Scroggs to my brother, Mike, who may need it next year. I, Nancy Perkins, will my fabulous dancing ability to Danny Shofner and my great ability to play the pin-ball machine to Terry Etherton. I, Betty Provin, will my winning of the Betty Crocker Homemaker of Tomorrow award to Sandra Mott in hopes that she will have as much fun washing dishes as I did. I, Eugene Reeser, will my baby sister my love for the faculty in hopes that she may invoke upon herself the great love which they have shown me. I, Jean Riddle, will my shyness to Janet Jamison. I, Michael Roberts, leave my good meanness to Waylan Burton. I, Mary Roos, will my cooking ability to Ann Halcomb. I, Kenny Thrasher, will my ability to swim and tumble to Richard Massey. I, Nancy Tool, will my ability to bake ’’Surprise Meringues” to Karen Reynolds. I, Steve Walden, will my ability to squint to Gary McConkey, so that he won ' t have to wear glasses anymore. I, Bob Walters, will my great speed and vast ability along with superior form in running the mile to Ron Smith. I, Sharon White, will my clarinet to Linda Mix in hopes she can play it better than I can. I. Vickie White, will my lavender leotards and my love for horses to Allyne Remmers. I, Conrad Wilson, will my unique hot rod to John Baylor with the hopes that he will do a better job of customizing it than I did. I, Marshall Wilson, will my sports ability to my brother in hopes he can do better.
