EAT DRI lt is usually around the middle of third period that the Frosted Flakes you had for breakfast are no longer keeping your stomach occupied. It's time for lunch. Lunch starts at 11:00 a.m. and continues until 1:00 p.m. There are six lines that one may stand in: three are for the standard D.l.S.D. fare and three are for those with a sweeter tooth and those who crave junk food. One line doubles as a .wi 2' 4 4 Sw, !.-..k0 Reginald Young, Brian Bonner and Monique Wimbush finish the meal. 16 A TIME salad bar for those who wish to at least look like the're eating something nutritious. A lot of students, after years of lunchroom food, have suffered from lunchroom food overdose and choose to bring their lunches as an alternative. But when the hunger pangs begin and there is a spare dollar in your pocket, a meal in Carter's lunchroom can't be beat. CGPPI G SOME Z's After eating lunch in Carter's lunchroom, there is this sudden desire to take a nap, or cop some Z's. This desire is most prominent in fifth, sixth, and seventh periods. Teachers don't help at all, they choose to lecture endlessly on some boring subject. Seeing their students sleep in class is hard on the teachers, too. But it is even harder to catch up in class after waking from a par- ticularly refreshing snooze. To some students, snatching an extra catnap in class is a way to get the sleep they didn't get the night before. It also helps to refresh their energy in order to have some fun after school is over. At any rate, snoozing in class if NOT recomended, unless you are dog- gone tired. 18 A TIME Returning from work on the Executive Assistants Program, Durrand Hill takes forty winks in History class.
