T113 E . Why did it have to happen? Carter's football team was faced with numerous injuries. ln more ways than one, this hurt our team and school. The trauma of Tank Lewis' tampered ankle spread gloom and despair throughout the hearts of Carter fans, but with lots of faith, pride and hard work the team went on to do what had to be done. This year seemed to be ideal for injuries. Aside it from football, many Carter students were im- paired. Walking the halls without tripping over a crutch or being poked by an elbow in a sling seemed impossible. lt was extremely depressing to see so many Carterians hurt. Despite iniury, Derrick Ballard maintains his cool image. Tank Lewis, keeping his spirits up, pals around with friends Marcus Forney and Dwayne Phorne. student Life 21
