GETTILNIG 3 A happening sometimes more fun than the event itself is the rehearsal, preparation. Those are the moments when you feel free to goof up because that is what practice is for. Those are times when you laugh at yourself trying a new routine, being creative in sign making, and doing manual labor tasks which even principals sometimes do. Freshmen, a new edition to the D. W. Carter student body always seem to lose their way in their new surroundings. Many upperclassmen take these newcomers under their wings and show them around. The unfortunate freshmen, however stumble around Carter or remain lost. All were freshmen once. Sophomores and juniors flash back to their younger days and try to help the freshmen because they can remember the fear they had. Seniors however are too busy spending most of their time representing Carter at its best, hopefully to recruit new freshmen that the chain may continue.
