Librarians begin media program Under the leadership of a new librarian. Iacel Burks. great strides have been taken to orientate and encourage students to use ma- terials in the library. Projecting into the future. Mrs. Burks sees a number of changes that will be of benefit to students and faculty. The library is moving into an expanded program for providing ma- terials for instructional learning. which is called the media program, Two types of media, instructional and learning, will be available. Materials which are to be used in the classroom will be stored in a resource center for teachers. Other media will be available in the open area for pupils to use independently. The area of the media program will be both the library and study halls. One study hall may be used for video aids which a clerk will issue to teachers and students. The other may be a quiet study area possi- bly equipped with couches. round tables, and individual study booths called carrels. Materials in this room will be limited since it is strictly for those who wish to study quietly alone. The library will then be for research only.
